Karnataka government effects changes in BBMP posts

Bengaluru: The Karnataka government on Saturday passed an order merging the posts of engineer-in-chief, Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP), and director (technical), Bengaluru Smart Infrastructure Limited (B-SMILE). As a result, BBMP will no longer have an engineer-in-chief.

The order directs B S Prahlad, the current engineer-in-chief of BBMP, to immediately take charge as the director (technical) of B-SMILE.

B-SMILE is a special-purpose vehicle (SPV) created to execute major infrastructure projects in the city.
