<p>Bengaluru: Former Karnataka Lokayukta justice <a href="https://www.deccanherald.com/india/karnataka/banning-rss-would-be-unconstitutional-former-sc-judge-santosh-hegde-3768270">N Santosh Hegde</a> was rushed to a hospital when he collapsed after delivering a speech at an event here on Friday. </p><p>Hegde, 86, was at an event organised by the Bharat Scouts & Guides to honour former minister PGR Sindhia for receiving an honorary doctorate recently by the Gulbarga University. He wanted to go home and was leaving when he collapsed on stage. He was immediately rushed to hospital in my car as there was no ambulance,” Speaker UT Khader, who was the chief guest at the event, said. “He’s fine now. His regular doctors are attending to him.” </p><p>Dr Ramesh Babu, a general surgeon who was at the event, performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), involving an external cardiac massage, to Hegde. “He made a slow speech. After taking his seat, he vomited twice. He wanted to go off stage. While collapsing, the scouts gave him support, which helped. His blood pressure was also low,” Babu said, adding that Hegde suffered a syncopal attack. </p>
