Karnataka Rashtra Samithi releases first list of candidates for civic body polls

Bengaluru: The Karnataka Rashtra Samithi (KRS) on Wednesday announced its first list of 25 candidates for the elections to the five city corporations under the Greater Bengaluru Area (GBA).

The party said the move aims to provide “clean and people-friendly governance” to the residents of Bengaluru.

KRS leaders pointed out that civic body elections in Bengaluru have not been held for over 11 years. They added that agencies such as the BBMP and the water board have been plagued by corruption and mismanagement.

The party criticised the deterioration of the city’s infrastructure, citing pothole-ridden roads, garbage black spots, waste burning, and overflowing drains as evidence of systemic failure.

Announcing the candidate list, KRS said the nominees have been actively working in their respective wards by addressing public grievances, exposing irregularities in civic works, and pushing for action against corruption. The candidates will also focus on ensuring the delivery of welfare benefits, including pensions.

The party also invited aspiring candidates to attend interviews held every Wednesday and Sunday at its headquarters in Rajajinagar. Interested individuals can contact the party through its official mobile number for further details.
