KSRTC wins award for structured training to 12,000 staff

Bengaluru: The Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) announced it won the World HRD Congress Award 2026 for 'Best in Training and Organisation Development'. 

In the past six months, the KSRTC has offered structured training in fuel efficiency, refresher training, accident-free driving, road safety, and simulator-based training to over 12,000 staff. 

Under the PM-AJAY scheme, the corporation is providing heavy vehicle driving training along with free driving licence issuance to Scheduled Caste candidates in collaboration with the Transport Department.

Similarly, in association with the Directorate of Minorities, the corporation provides light and heavy vehicle driving training along with free driving licences, to candidates from minority communities. 

KSRTC also offers driving training to private candidates. Newly recruited driver-cum-conductors, technical staff, KST constables, and junior assistants receive induction training covering job responsibilities and duties.

Special training programmes are conducted for supervisory staff, and driving instructors are deployed to units to train driving personnel. Refresher training is also provided to administrative staff along with several other capacity-building programmes, the KSRTC said.
