Exited the same station, got a Rs 50 + 9.5 penalty for overstay.”
.
The incident took place on August 12, a day after the Yellow Line opened.
.
Since then, many netizens have spoken up on the issue, urging BMRCL to revoke the overstay fee on the Yellow Line that runs between RV Road and Bommasandra.
.
Bangalore Metro Updates said on X: “This is a terrible experience. A 20-25 minute wait is understandable given the current shortage of trains, but charging a penalty for overstaying, at exit, is absurd.
