<p align="justify">BMRCL has extended the timings for North-South and East-West corridors with the first service beginning at 5 am and the last train departing at around 11 pm while BMTC is preparing to bridge the last-mile gap.<br /><br />Those in the Majestic area can board a train to the four corners served by Metro at 11.25 pm. <br /><br />“The first train from terminal stations — Baiyappanahalli, Mysuru Road, Nagasandra and Yelachenahalli — will start at 5 am. Passengers should note that the speed of these initial trains will be slow as they are pilot trains,” the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) stated in a release on Friday.<br />Though the North-South line is set to be inaugurated by President Pranab Mukherjee on Saturday, commercial services will begin only at 4 pm.<br /><br />The last train from Baiyappanahalli and Yelachenahalli will depart at 11 pm. It will be 11.05 pm for Mysuru Road and 10.50 pm for Nagasandra.<br /><br />Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) is not only deploying additional buses for feeder service, but is also extending its operations to meet the commuters’ demand for last mile connectivity.<br /><br />BMTC Managing Director Ekroop Caur said, “About 120 buses will be deployed for feeder services. The number of buses and routes can be increased after assessing the commuters’ demand.”<br /><br />The BMTC already runs more than 85 buses to metro stations. These buses not only connect to the far-off corners of the city, but also the major bus stations.<br /><br />Officials are also conducting surveys to understand the travel pattern. “Feeder service is a continuously evolving process.
