People wade, vehicles navigate choked roads amid continuous downpour

Bengaluru: Continuous downpour across the city for a few hours on Thursday night triggered traffic jams and caused waterlogging in several areas.

No incidents of tree fall were reported.

According to the Bengaluru Traffic Police’s ASTraM application, waterlogging was reported on several roads in the Central Business District (CBD), including MG Road, Sankey Road, and Majestic. Notably, the Khoday Junction underpass and Windsor Manor underpass were inundated, disrupting traffic movement.

MG Road near Queens Circle turned into a gushing mini river, while vehicles waded through a temporary lake that formed at Sirur Park Junction near Mantri Square Mall. Both sides of most major roads in the CBD witnessed a steady stream of water flowing for over an hour on Thursday night.

Traffic slowdowns were also reported in Domlur, Koramangala, Banaswadi, and surrounding areas.
