Poor road in Kaggadasapura

.
Kaggadasapura 29th ‘C’ cross road is in a bad shape and nothing has been done to repair it for a long time now. Apparently, the BBMP plans to lay underground sewage pipes and then start the road work.

People are suffering because of the bad road. Students from the nearby Narayana School are also affected and the rains make it worse. We request the BBMP to take immediate action and repair the road.
Shivakumar R

No to gas meters inside homes

GAIL Gas Limited recently started laying pipelines to provide direct gas supply to homes. The process has started in HSR layout. I was really surprised when I visited a house in HSR Layout where the gas meter has been installed inside.

Since the meter has to be read by a meter reader who comes on a regular basis, how safe is it to allow an unknown person into the house to read the meter each time? In many homes, only old people or youngsters may be living. It is really unsafe to let somebody into the house and all the way into the kitchen. As gas connections are being outsourced, who knows how long one meter reader will stick on?

For the safety of gas consumers, it would be advisable to instal all gas meters outside like water and electricity meters, so that there is no need for the meter reader to enter the homes unnecessarily.
Anuradha, HSR Layout

Bad road from Gottigere to Basavanapura

Bannerghatta Road is getting worse by the day. The stretch from Gottigere to Basavanapura gate is in an extremely bad shape. It’s neither motorable nor walkable.
It was dug up recently for laying water pipelines and has not been relaid even after six weeks. Huge potholes have got come up following rains, worsening the situation.

Motorists and pedestrians have a tough time using this stretch. Some broken pieces of cable also lie on the roadside. In the evenings, there are no streetlights from Basavanapura gate to Nice Road.

A lot has been spoken about the widening of the road but nothing has materialised till date. We sincerely request the authorities concerned to take immediate measures for repair and widening of the road.
Nagamani Kumar

Live wires touch trees

Live electrical wires touch down trees at 12 ‘A’ cross, 35th main in JP Nagar. Overflowing drains during the rains have worsened the situation. They are breeding grounds for mosquitoes which spread diseases like malaria, dengue and chikungunya. These drains should be covered immediately.
G S Meenakshi
7th block,
Banashankari 3rd stage

Garbage menace

Garbage is dumped in the corner of the road near Radhakrishna Temple in Sanjay Nagar where there is a park, a Nandini milk booth and HOPCOMS stall as well. The stench emanating from the garbage is a big deterrent for morning walkers in the park and devotees coming to the temple. The garbage also attracts stray dogs and cattle. When the local MLA Narayanaswamy visited the site recently, it was cleaned up, but now it is back to status quo. The BBMP authorities are requested to please ensure the area is garbage-free to protect the environment around the park and the sanctity of the temple.
A V Akhilesh 401, Nirman Shelters #8, 4th Main AECS (Naidu) Layout Sanjaynagar

Poor condition of Rustam Bagh Road

The condition of Rustam Bagh Main Road in Ward 113 is pathetic and since the onset of monsoon, the road has deteriorated further. It has become difficult to even walk on the road with water tankers and other heavy vehicles endangering the lives of pedestrians. The repair works until now have only yielded temporary results. A detailed technical assessment is needed since the existing pipes at the subsequent junction are of a smaller diameter. This road sees heavy traffic at all times and the overflowing drain causes great inconvenience to the pedestrians and residents of the surrounding houses.
Shuba Jayasimha
Bhuvaneshwarinagar,
Banashankari 3rd Stage

Road not tarred in months

The 8th, 9th and 10th cross (Mayura street) of Bhadrappa Layout, Hebbal on the Outer Ring Road have been in a very bad condition for the past two years. After constant petitions and requests to the local corporator, whatever tar was left on the road was dug up and jelly stones were laid on all three roads. The roads have remained in this condition for the past two months. Taxi drivers are unwilling to drive on these roads as the tyres get punctured. I have been hit by stones flying from cars twice and it is just a matter of time before they hurt someone’s eye. I request the BBMP to please tar the road as soon as possible.
Dhruv Shetty 10th Cross, Mayura Street, Bhadrappa Layout, Hebbal
