<p>Bengaluru: Bangalore South MP Tejasvi Surya has urged the BMRCL for an "immediate release" of its fare fixation committee (FFC) report.</p><p>In a post on X on Monday, Surya said that he raised this issue during a consultation meeting with Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) Managing Director M Maheshwar Rao regarding the Phase 3 metro alignment, noting that the metro corporations of other cities such as Mumbai, Hyderabad, and Delhi have made their FFC reports public.</p><p>The fare fixation committee was constituted under the chairmanship of former Madras High Court Judge R Tharani.</p>.Bengaluru: New bus route from May 1. <p>The committee submitted its report with recommendations for a fare hike on December 16, 2024. However, the report has not been made publicly available since then. "Despite a steep fare hike of up to 71%, making Namma Metro the most expensive in the country, the BMRCL has not made the FFC report public even months after its submission," Surya wrote.</p><p>"Cities like Delhi, Mumbai, and Hyderabad have released their FFC reports to ensure transparency. Withholding the report only undermines public trust," the MP added.</p><p>He urged the BMRCL to release the report in the public domain to build public trust and ensure accountability in the fare revision process.</p>
