<p>A new approach road connecting Sampige Road with Swatantrapalya (MD Block) will be built to ease traffic on Sampige Road.<br /><br /></p>.<p>Mayor B S Satyanarayana and Food and Civil Supplies Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao during their inspection of the proposed road near Mantri Mall on Friday, said Mantri Developers had agreed to build the road and discussions will be held with the firm to speed up the work.<br /><br />Since a portion of the proposed road touches the Railway land too, Rao suggested the Palike officials to get in touch with the Railway authorities to provide some piece of land to widen the road for the smooth traffic flow. Mayor said a meeting with the Metro Rail officials, BBMP and the Railway officials would be convened for the speedy implementation of the projects.<br /><br />Subhashnagar corporator T Mallesh requested the Mayor for a railway underbridge connecting Sampige Road with Swatantrapalya. He said if the BBMP agrees to pay Rs 10 lakh, the Railways would take up the work. <br /><br />Responding to the plea, Mayor directed the Palike officials to obtain the assent of Railways and start the work at the earliest.<br /></p>
