<p>Bengaluru: A 28-year-old software engineer was <a href="https://www.deccanherald.com/tags/assualted">assaulted</a> by a two-wheeler rider following a minor road rage incident near his residence in Mahadevapura.</p>.<p>The suspect was nabbed soon after, the police said.</p>.<p>A senior police officer said the injured, Trideep Ghosh, an employee of a startup software company, stated in his complaint that the incident occurred on March 29, around 10 pm, when he was returning home after meeting a friend.</p>.<p>As Ghosh approached his apartment, he overtook a scooter using his indicator. The rider of an Activa, who was behind him, suddenly rode ahead, intercepted Ghosh and blocked his path. The accused allegedly began shouting and abusing him without any provocation.</p>.<p>When Ghosh questioned the reason for the confrontation, the rider allegedly punched him on the nose, causing severe bleeding. He was then pushed to the ground and kicked on the chest and legs, resulting in multiple injuries.</p>.<p>Speaking to DH, Ghosh said the attacker was speaking in a local language, which he could not understand.</p>.Student assaulted in Marathahalli road rage after minor accident.<p>"I thought someone was calling for help and stopped my bike. He kept shouting in a language I did not understand. I even asked if he could speak in English or Hindi, but he continued yelling and suddenly attacked me," he said.</p>.<p>Ghosh said the assault was severe and unexpected.</p>.<p>"I had suffered a heart attack two months ago and my body was still weak. When he punched me, I lost consciousness for a while."</p>.<p>Following the assault, passersby gathered at the spot, prompting the accused to flee. Though some people offered to help him reach the hospital, Ghosh said he first managed to take his bike back home.</p>.<p>A senior police officer said that based on a tip-off, the suspect, Varun Kumar, 30, a resident of Mahadevapura, was arrested and further investigations are on.</p>
