Serial crash on Bengaluru airport road damages 4 cars, leaves one injured

Bengaluru: A serial crash on the international airport road on Friday afternoon damaged four cars and left one driver injured. The crash caused slow-moving traffic in both directions — from and towards the airport.

The incident occurred on the Venkatala flyover, near Kendriya Vihar Community Hall, around 12.30 pm. According to traffic police, it happened when one car coming towards the city suddenly slammed the brakes. Subsequently, three cars crashed into one another behind it, causing the first car to crash into the metal median, said the police. The median broke and fell onto the other side of the road, affecting traffic movement.

One of the drivers sustained minor injuries.

As of Friday, no complaint had been registered. “The National Highways Authority of India must register a complaint for the broken metal median; they haven’t done that yet,” said a police officer.
