A manager who was working at Oracle, <a href="https://www.deccanherald.com/india/karnataka/bengaluru">Bengaluru</a>, has spoken about the emotional toll that job layoffs have on individuals. </p><p>Hrishikesha Narsha took to his LinkedIn account and shared how after working for 16 years in the company, his journey at Oracle came to an sudden end due to the recent layoffs. </p><p>"After 16 incredible years, my journey with Oracle came to an unexpected end yesterday during yesterday’s layoffs," he wrote in a post on April 1, 2026.</p><p>He said it was a strange transition to wake up and realise that his priorities had changed overnight.</p>.Structural shift in tech sector: What led to layoffs at Oracle.<p>"It is a strange transition to wake up and realize your daily priorities have shifted overnight. While my mind still instinctively drafts to-do lists for projects that are no longer mine, I’m navigating the same heavy questions as many others who got laid off — thinking about family, finances, and the future," Narsha wrote. </p><p>Rather than focusing on how the chapter ended, he said he instead chose to celebrate everything the last 16 years in the company had given to him.</p><p>"Oracle shaped me as a leader, and I am deeply grateful for the teammates and partners, some of them who became lifelong friends," he wrote. </p><p>"What’s next: I’m ready for a new challenge," he added, mentioning that he was confident in the value that he brings and was eager to "hit the ground running". </p>.<p>Oracle, US-based IT firm, has reportedly laid off approximately 12,000 employees in India, and another round of layoffs is expected within a month.</p><p>Globally, the <a href="https://www.deccanherald.com/business/companies/oracle-begins-layoffs-30000-employees-likely-to-be-fired-3951329">company has fired around 30,000 employees</a>.</p><p>"In India, around 12,000 employees have been laid off.
