<p>To reach out to stakeholders in a more proficient way and provide easy service, the Employees' Provident Fund Organisation opened its new sub-regional office at Yelahanka New Town here on Friday. <br /><br /></p>.<p>“The idea behind opening a new sub-regional office is to be able to provide doorstep service to all our stake holders. This will ensure that the procedures are carried out faster and performed in a better manner. It will be useful in settling claims, compliance and recovering services in less time,” said K K Jalan, Central Provident fund Commissioner New Delhi.<br /><br />Jalan said the sub-regional offices in Bangalore have been performing averagely and needed to improve. “The rejection rate in south zone is relatively higher than in north. In places such as Haryana, it is less than 10 per cent, while here, it is up to 15 per cent,” said Jalan. “There is a need to work on the establishment and negative balances,” he added.<br /><br />Karnataka has the maximum number of sub-regional offices in the country. As of now, there are 16 in the State, with six located in Bangalore on Raja Ram Mohan Roy Road, Mysore Road, KR Puram, Peenya and Bommasandra. Kerala and Tamil Nadu have only 14 offices combined. The newly opened office at Yelahanka New Town will cater for the needs of stakeholders in and around the jurisdiction of Yelahanka.<br /><br />Jalan said that once the entire system was computerised, there would not be a need for any sub-regional offices.
