Techie hangs himself at friend's place

A 28-year-old software professional committed suicide by hanging himself at his friend's paying guest accommodation at Govind Shetty Palya near Parappana Agrahara, south Bengaluru, on Wednesday.

The police have identified the deceased as Ananth Phule, a native of Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. He had arrived in Bengaluru a couple of years ago and was working in a software company. His company had sent him to Goa on a project work for three months.

On Tuesday, he came back to the city and went to his friend's place, who lives in a PG accommodation, and told him that he would stay there till he finds a place. On Wednesday, after his friend left for work, he locked himself in and hanged from the ceiling.

The incident came to light when the friend came home in the evening and found him hanging, said the police. They found that he had slit his wrist before hanging himself. They also found a death note, written on a tissue paper, in which he had mentioned that he was sorry for committing suicide at his friend’s place, said the police.
