Bengaluru: Two dancers die after bike collides with lorry on city outskirts

Bengaluru: A speeding lorry collided with a two-wheeler and killed two people at the Kunigal bypass, Nelamangala, on the outskirts of the city just after midnight on Sunday.

Prajwal (25), from Srirampuram, and Sahana (22), from Laggere, were killed after the container lorry crashed head-on and ran over them. Both were professional dancers, reportedly returning from an event around 12.30 am.

The container lorry, carrying courier goods, was travelling from Bengaluru towards Tumakuru, with Ahmedabad as its destination. Sahana and Prajwal were travelling towards the city from Kunigal.

At the bypass, the lorry crashed into their bike, causing them to fall. The lorry went over them, killing them on the spot.

The police have detained the driver and impounded the vehicle. A case has been registered for rash and negligent driving and causing death by negligence.
