AICC general secretary in-charge of Karnataka K C Venugopal is scheduled to chair the first meeting of newly appointed Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) office-bearers on July 21 in Bengaluru.
Sources in the party said Venugopal is likely to give directions to the office-bearers on strengthening the party ahead of the state assembly elections. KPCC president G Parameshwara and senior leaders of the party will be present in the meeting.
The Congress high command recently appointed 171 office-bearers to the KPCC. Many of the party leaders are said to be upset with the party for not accommodating their supporters.
Meanwhile, the KPCC is learnt to have taken a four-BHK flat at Embassy Habitat in Vasanthnagar, Bengaluru, on rent to be used as a guest house. Venugopal and four AICC secretaries will stay there during their visits to Bengaluru.
