'Why is the idli still single?': Netizens share hilarious comments as Reddit post on food prices in Bengaluru canteen goes viral

While it remains unclear whether the single idli referred to a different variety, perhaps larger-sized or thatte idli, the board clearly displayed “Four Idly Rs 50/-” and “Single Idly Rs 100/”, with photos of similar-looking idlis. This left many confused and questioning the prices.

The photo shows the eatery’s kitchen area. A few staff members can be seen standing and working, while three printed boards are displayed on the wall above. One lists the full menu, including dosas, rice dishes and other items available. The other two, showing the idly prices and quantities, are what created the buzz.

As the post went viral, foodies quickly identified the spot as Naveen Butter Dosa Camp, an old eatery in the city that has reportedly been serving customers since the 1970s.

The internet had a fun day reacting to the single and four idly poster displayed there, after noticing how just one piece was being priced higher than four.

"Everywhere there is discrimination against singles in Bangalore. 😢 Now I. Food also.. hahaha," one chuckled. "But why is the idly still single?", asked another. "Single people are worth more," followed a comment.
