<p>A homemaker committed suicide by hanging herself at a house in KG Halli police limits on Saturday night. <br /><br /></p>.<p>The victim has been identified as Gracie, 23, a resident of Sujan Nagar in KG Halli. In a suicide letter, she blamed her lover, Santosh, for compelling her to take the extreme step.<br /><br />Married in 2005, Gracie and her husband, Sangeeth, had three children, before Sangeeth left the family in 2011. “Gracie eventually developed a relationship with Santosh, a man who lived in the same area — but without knowing his background,” police said. <br /><br />Upset to learn that Santosh was married and had children, Gracie argued with him and even lodged a complaint against him for cheating at D J Halli police.<br /><br />Police responded by advising her to settle their differences in an amicable manner. “At that time, she had accepted the compromise brokered by police,” an officer said. <br /><br />From May 16, Gracie was employed as a domestic helper at Mehaboob Sharif’s residence on Shyamapura Main Road. Sharif allowed her to stay in a bungalow within the compound of his home. <br /><br />On Sunday morning, when Sharif’s wife, Nishanth, sought to summon Gracie from the bungalow, she found no response. “When she went inside, she found Gracie’s body hanging from the ceiling fan,” police said.<br /><br />In her suicide letter, Gracie reportedly mentioned Santosh’s name and stated that she had decided to end her life as he had cheated her. <br /><br />Police, however, remain tightlipped about content of the letter saying the disclosure would hamper the investigation. “Santosh is at large. A search is being conducted for him,” police said.<br /><br />Homemaker robbed<br /><br />Two unidentified men robbed a homemaker of a 25 gram gold chain near her home on 8th Cross, 11th Main, in the J B Nagar police limits, Saturday night.<br /><br />According the complainant, Lakshmi Venkatasurya, the incident took place when she was returning home from a nearby store.<br /><br />In her statement to police, Venkatasurya said that the suspects came on a bike, stopped her near house on the pretext of asking her for the location of a petrol bunk. <br /><br />“When she started to answer their question, the pillion rider snatched her chain and the two men rode off,” police said.<br />A case has been registered.</p>
