Bizman crushed to death while unloading granite slabs

Karwar, DHNS: A 53-year-old businessman from the city died  after granite slabs fell on him while unloading them from a lorry at Bedtulbag near Hosali Cross on Thursday.

The deceased has been identified as Muddanna Hanumappa Halundi, a resident of Bandishitta in the city, Muddanna was the owner of three tiles and ceramics shops in the city. He had recently opened the Bedtulbag stall where the mishap occurred while unloading the granite slabs from the lorry.

Upon seeing a granite slab that was about to fall on a worker, Muddanna rushed to save him. Unfortunately he came under the falling slab and suffered grievous head injuries. The businessman bled to death on the spot, the Chittakula police told DH.
