<p>Mangaluru: The BJP Backward Classes Morcha of Dakshina Kannada unit staged a protest in front of BJP office in Mangaluru on Saturday against the <a href="https://www.deccanherald.com/india/karnataka">Karnataka</a> government for failing to release grants for the backward classes corporations in the state. </p><p>Addressing the protesters, Mangalore City South MLA D Vedavyasa Kamath said Chief Minister Siddaramaiah who came to power in the name of 'Ahinda' has failed to ensure justice to the backward classes. </p><p>"During the previous BJP government's tenure, led by Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai, a grant of Rs 31.23 crore for the development of backward classes in Dakshina Kannada district was released. However, the government under Siddaramaiah's leadership has withdrawn grants exceeding Rs 1,000 crore in the state," he said. </p>.Bengaluru cop found dead on railway track, blames wife and father-in-law in suicide note.<p>He questioned the whereabouts of those who had previously taken part in a padayatra demanding the establishment of the Narayanaguru Corporation. "However, not a single rupee has been allocated to the corporation so far," he claimed </p><p>The district BJP President Sathish Kumpala alleged that the state government has failed totally. </p><p>The protesters accused the government of failing to release grants under various schemes meant for the backward classes. "The Backward Classes Corporation has failed to get a single paise for the last 18 to 19 months", Kumpala alleged.</p><p>The protesters alleged that by failing to allot grants, the government is following discrimination. They shouted slogans against the state government.</p>
