<p>Three weeks after City boy Souvik Pal went missing in Manchester, the UK police have reportedly recovered a body from an Old Trafford canal on Tuesday. <br /><br /></p>.<p>The BBC reported that the authorities are yet to ascertain the identity of the body.<br /><br />Souvik’s father Shantanu, who has been in Manchester since January 5 in pursuit of his son, told Deccan Herald over phone that he did not wish to comment, but confirmed that a body was recovered. “I hope it is not of my son,” he said.<br /><br />Souvik’s family in the City is oscillating between hope and despair as the canal whe-re the body was found was near the place whe-re Souvik was last spotted. “Police had conducted extensive search of nearby water bodies but in vain. The body found today could be of somebody else. We hope for the best,” a family friend said. <br /><br />Souvik, 19, a student at the Manchester Metropolitan University, went missing from a night club on New Year’s Eve.</p>
