The Shimoga Lok Sabha Voters and Well-wishers’ Forum, on Sunday, organised a get-together of the natives of Shimoga residing in Bangalore.

The forum, seeking electorate support to former chief minister and BJP candidate for Shimoga, B S Yeddyurappa, met at Gayathri Vihar on Palace Grounds and was attended by several leaders from Shimoga, including K S Eshwarappa, Ayanur Manjunath, Araga Jnanendra, H Halappa, among others.

The leaders made a fervent appeal to the Shimoga voters to reach their native on the election day and vote for Yeddyurappa. BJP candidates for Bangalore South and Bangalore North, H N Ananth Kumar and D V Sadananda Gowda, also sought their support.

Earlier, addressing a press conference in Bangalore, former chief minister Yeddyurappa expressed confidence that three party candidates in Bangalore - Ananth Kumar, P C Mohan and Sadananda Gowda - would win with an impressive margin.

He said he had campaigned extensively in 15 constituencies and claimed that people responded positively to the good adminstration given by the BJP.

Referring to a few litterateurs supporting the Congress, he said writers who are supposed to teach morals to society, should not belittle others. Writers, including U R Ananthamurthy, should desist from doing so, he added.

Before the press meet,  S M Sanjay, grandson of late chief minister S Nijalingappa, joined the BJP.
