<p>Chitradurga: Five people died on the spot and another seriously injured when an Innova car hit a lorry parked on the road side from behind on National Highway 48 near Tamatakallu in the taluk on Sunday.</p> <p>Bengaluru-based retired BMTC employees Shantamurthy (60), Rudraswamy (52), Mallikarjuna (50), and Chidambarachar (50) died. The identity of the other has not been ascertained. Another person who was seriously injured has been admitted to the district hospital. All of them had gone to the Savadatti Renuka Yellamma temple and were returning after having darshan of the deity.
