Case registered against Mahesh Shetty Thimarodi in Karnataka's Puttur

Shetty is also accused of making offensive remarks about the complainant’s mother, tarnishing the character of women, and speaking in a manner that insulted and defamed the honour of his mother and wife.

Mangaluru: A theatre and Tulu film artist has filed a case at Sampya Police station accusing activist Mahesh Shetty Thimarodi of insulting the dignity of women in his family and issuing threats to life.

The case has been registered against Mahesh Shetty Thimarodi under sections 196(1), 352, 351(4), and 79 of BNS 2023, based on a complaint filed by Sundar Rai Mandara-- a resident of Mandara House near Kumbra in Innmogru village in Puttur taluk. Sundar in his complaint informed that on April 12 his friend Dinesh Kodapadavu had shared an audio recording via WhatsApp. The recording reportedly contained a phone conversation between Prajwal of Guruvayanakere and Mahesh Shetty.

Mahesh Shetty during the conversation allegedly used derogatory and abusive language to harm the complainant’s dignity and reputation. He is also accused of making offensive remarks about the complainant’s mother, tarnishing the character of women, and speaking in a manner that insulted and defamed the honour of his mother and wife.
