Cases filed against activists Girish Mattanavar, Mahesh Thimarody and Puneeth Kerehalli

Mangaluru: Based on complaints from public, Belthangady police registered cases against activists including Girish Mattanavar, Mahesh Thimarody and Puneeth Kerehalli.

Charan Shetty from Beltangady filed complaints at Beltangady police station reportedly accusing Girish Mattanavar of using foul language on social media. Beltangady police based on the complaint registered a case under Col 57, 290 of BNS on Wednesday evening.

Based on another complaint from Charan Shetty, a case was registered against activist Mahesh Thimarodi for allegedly inciting public under Section 353 (2) of BNS. A resident of Belthangady Jerome Barboza filed a complaint against Puneeth Kerehalli for his abusive language on Youtube.
