<p>Tarikere: Karnataka Primary and Secondary Education Minister <a href="https://www.deccanherald.com/tags/madhu-bangarappa">Madhu Bangarappa</a>on Friday said the NDA-led Central government has only been giving Rs 2,000 per student instead of Rs 6,000 per year as per the rule of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan.</p><p>He was speaking during the election campaign meeting of Malnad Areca Marketing cooperative society (Mamcos), held at Aramane Hotel Auditorium in the town on Friday.</p><p>“Despite collecting highest revenue from the state, the Centre has been discriminating against Karnataka in the allocation of grants”, he accused.</p>.'C T Ravi case to divert attention from Amit Shah's insult to Ambedkar', says Madhu Bangarappa.<p>The minister further said that during the BJP rule in the state, only 4,900 teachers were appointed in three and a half years, while the current state government led by Congress has appointed 13,500 teachers in just 11 months.</p><p>The Asian Development Bank has been providing a grant of Rs 2000 crore considering the quality of education provided by the state government.</p><p>Also, Azim Premji Foundation has provided Rs 1591 crore towards the distribution of eggs to schoolchildren. The Education department has formed education committees in every taluk and assembly constituency to improve the quality of education, Madhu Bangarappa said. </p><p>The guest teachers have been appointed at the beginning of the academic year. Uniforms and textbooks are also provided to the students. Special classes are also being conducted for the students from rural areas lagging behind in studies. The results of all these programmes will be visible in the next four to five years, he added.</p><p>Madhu Bangarappa also said that Mamcos was established by the Congress government in Shivamogga for the benefit of areca growers and he BJP took over the society which was transacting in thousands of crores and cheated its members besides misusing the users during elections. </p>
