<p>Kalaburagi: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said that the state government will seriously consider providing additional incentives to the industries opting to establish their units in Kalyana Karnataka to attract more investment and generate employment opportunities in the region.</p><p>He was speaking after inaugurating the divisional-level job fair organised by Karnataka Skill Development Corporation here on Wednesday, while responding to AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge’s plea to give a 60% concession for </p><p>setting up industries in the region. </p><p>Terming unemployment as a big problem confronting the nation, he said that it is the responsibility of the centre and state governments to resolve it. The unemployment problem can be resolved if there is a flow of more foreign direct investment. </p><p>Focus should be given to facilitate the establishment of more industries in the region. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has failed to keep his promise to generate two crore jobs every year. He could not provide even 20 lakh jobs during his tenure, the chief minister charged. </p><p><strong>Employable skill training</strong></p><p>Stressing the need to provide employable skill training to unemployed youths, Siddaramaiah assured to provide jobs along with skill training to those who did not get employment in the job fair. According to the Periodic Labour Force Survey, the unemployment rate among degree holders in the country is 18.9%, and among diploma holders, it is 17.1%. </p><p>In Karnataka, the unemployment rate stands at 2.5%, which is relatively lower than the other states. Therefore, the Karnataka government is committed to providing employment to the jobless youths, he assured. </p><p>Stating that KKRDB has utilised Rs 3,000 crore after its chairman Dr Ajay Singh took charge, the chief minister directed him to utilise the full amount of Rs 5,000 being released by his government this year. The region has managed to get special status under Article 371(J) of the Constitution due to the efforts made by Mallikarjun Kharge and former chief minister N Dharam Singh, he said.</p><p>“We have kept our promise to implement five guarantee schemes.
