Crocodile surfaces in River Cauvery

Residents of Balugodu village, near here, were a worried lot as a huge crocodile appeared on a rock amidst River Cauvery on Monday.

People from even neighbouring villages thronged the river bank to get a glimpse of the reptile. The villagers feared letting their cattle near the river as rumours were doing the rounds that there were numerous crocodiles in the waters. Now, with the crocodile surfacing above the water, people nearly panicked.
