<p>Davangere: Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah stated that BJP follows Godse Hindutva, but Congress believes in Gandhi Hindutva.</p><p>He was campaigning for Congress nominee Samarth Shamanuru Mallikarjuna at Akthar Raza circle in the city on Thursday. "They claim that they are Hindus. What about us? Are we not Hindus? There are the names of two Gods in my name. Mallikarjun, Eshwar Khandre are also Hindus."</p><p>Slamming BJP, he said they never got power through people. "They came to power through backdoors. It never got 113 seats on its own in the assembly polls. They claim they are Hindus. They follow Godse Hindutva and we follow Gandhi Hindutva."</p><p>He charged that BJP looted money when it was in power from 2008 to 2013. They had mentioned over 600 promises in its manifesto during the assembly polls in 2018. But it had fulfilled only 60 and not even 10 per cent. </p><p>"But we had given 165 promises in the manifesto. Of them, 158 had been fulfilled from 2013 to 2018. So, Samarth was given ticket as his grand father(Shamanur Shivashanakrappa) died. Similarly, the party has fielded the son of senior Congress H Y Meti in Bagalkot bypolls."</p><p>Chief Minister Siddaramaiah asked voters to elect Samarth as their MLA of Davangere South by a margin of over 50,000 votes. "Press the button three on electronic voting machine during the polling on April 9 and ensure the victory of Congress nominee. Samarth is young and educated and comes from political family.
