Delegation seeks Karnataka High Court bench in coastal K'taka

Mangaluru: The members of Coastal Karnataka High Court Circuit Bench Horata Samithi have submitted a memorandum to Chief Justice of High Court Justice Vibhu Bakhru seeking the setting up of a permanent High Court bench in coastal Karnataka.

Till the setting up of a permanent bench, a circuit bench, initially comprising one division bench and two single benches can be established in Mangaluru, the delegation of the Samithi, informed Justice Vibhu.

The Chief Justice, after discussing the matter in detail, promised to look into the demand and to seek a report on availability of the existing facilities and requirements, if any, for any additional infrastructure.

In order to inspect the availability of infrastructure, Justice Bakhru said he would form a committee for the establishment of a circuit bench.
