<p>HD Kote (Mysuru Dist): Three members of afamily died by suicide, by jumping into the Hebbala reservoir in Vaddaragudi, HD Kote town, on Saturday. </p><p>They left behind a note stating, “We are distraught and are taking our own lives because our daughter fell in love with a young man and eloped with him”.</p><p>The deceased are Mahadevaswamy (55), his wife Manjula (42), and their younger daughter Harshita, residents of Budanuru village in HD Kote taluk.</p> .<p>On Saturday morning, all the three arrived at the reservoir on a motorbike. They wrote a death note, parked their mobike on the banks, and jumped into the water. </p><p>When passersby noticed the parked bike and slippers left on the banks, they searched and found the note on the bike. They then informed the Police and Fire and Emergency Services departments.</p><p>Locals stated, “Mahadevaswamy's sister-in-law had recently eloped with her lover. Now, his elder daughter also eloped with her lover. This might have distressed the family."</p> .<p><strong>Anger against police</strong></p><p>Even though the villagers informed the Police and Fire Services department about the family's suicide, no one arrived, for a long time. The people gathered there and expressed their anger against the officials.</p><p>Fire Services personnel arrived two hours later and retrieved the bodies from the water.</p>
