Eight workers trapped in Hutti Gold Mines lift rescued after four hours

They got stuck when they were moving in the central shaft of the gold mines

Raichur: Eight workers at Hutti Gold Mines in Lingsugur taluk of Raichur district were trapped in a lift for more than four hours without enough air and drinking water following a power cut on Thursday morning.

The incident occurred when the laborers were moving in the central shaft of the gold mines.

One of the workers collapsed owing to breathing problem.

Later, company authorities rushed to the spot and rescued all the workers. They have been admitted to the company hospital for treatment. 

Other staff members and labor union leaders visited the hospital and enquired about the workers' health.
