<p>Somwarapet: The carcass of a tusker, estimated to be 50 years old, was discovered near the Jenukallu reserve forest in Somwarpet of Kodagu district.</p><p>It is suspected that the elephant may have died 15 days ago, as the carcass is almost decomposed. The incident came to light on Wednesday when forest watchers visited the area.</p><p>ACF Gopal and RFO Shailendra visited the site on Thursday.</p><p>Veterinarian Dr Chettiyappa conducted a post-mortem examination of the carcass. The tusks of the deceased elephant were removed.</p>
