<p>Belagavi: Former MLA Kakasaheb Patil passed away due to ill health at a private hospital here in the early hours of Wednesday (June 18).</p><p>He was 71 years old. A native of Walki village in Nippani taluk, Patil was associated with Congress.</p><p>He had been elected from the Nippani assembly constituency for three terms in 1999, 2004 and 2008 elections.</p>.JD(S) demands withdrawal of Belagavi headmaster's suspension .<p>Few days ago, due to age-related ill health, Patil was admitted at a private hospital for treatment. He breathed his last in the early hours of Wednesday. </p><p>Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah also consoled demise of the former Congress MLA.</p><p>"The passing of Kakasaheb Patil, former MLA of the Nippani Assembly constituency and a senior leader, has caused deep sorrow. The demise of a straightforward, people-centric, and astute leader is a great loss not just to the political arena but also for the entire society. May the departed soul find peace. I pray that his family finds the strength to bear this loss," said CM Siddaramaiah.</p>.<p>Remains of Patil will be kept at Municipal High School ground in Nippani to allow people pay their last respects.</p><p>Last rites will be held at his native village Walki at 3:00 pm.</p><p>Patil is survived by a son and daughter.</p>
