<p>Belagavi: Pilgrims who had travelled from Belagavi to attend the Maha Kumbh being held at Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh were part of a single group, and four of them were killed and a few suffered injuries in the stampede that happened on the occasion of ‘Mauni Amavasaya’ on January 29.</p><p>A group of over 50 pilgrims in two buses of Shivarath Tours had left the city last Sunday and had reached the pilgrim centre on Tuesday night. </p><p>During the stampede in the early hours of Wednesday, Jyoti Hattarvat (44), her daughter Megha (24), who were residents of Nazar Camp, Vadgaon, and Arun Koparde (61), a resident of Shetti Galli, and Mahadevi Hanmath Bavnur (48), a resident of Shivaji Nagar, had suffered severe injuries and died. </p>.Maha Kumbh stampede | Opposition slams UP govt, blames 'VIP movement' for tragedy.<p>Others accompanying them escaped with injuries but got separated in the melee. They got to know of the deaths of those accompanying them at the hospital and informed the family members of the tragedy.</p><p>Umesh Pawar of Shivarath Tours informed <em>DH</em> over phone that he was successful in locating those who had booked his vehicles for the pilgrimage. All the four from the city killed in the stampede and those injured had travelled in his buses. "We are returning to the city in two buses with 46 pilgrims," he said.</p><p>He added there was huge traffic congestion. "We left Prayagraj at about 12 am and by 10 am on Thursday, we had managed to cover a mere 23 km. After coming out of the congestion, we could judge the approximate time required to reach back."</p>
