<p>Home Minister K J George said on Sunday that the government was contemplating reviewing the naxal surrender package, as part of efforts to bring naxals who are active in the State to the mainstream of society. <br /><br /></p>.<p>He was speaking to reporters at the IDSG College helipad in the City, where he landed in a chopper to take part in a private programme. <br /><br />Describing the attack by naxals on Congress workers rally in Chhattisgarh as unfortunate, the Home minister said none could take law into their own hands in a democracy and everyone had to work in the framework of the Constitution. <br /><br />Later, addressing a press conference, George said the State government was committed to resolve any problems through talks. The police and the Anti-naxal Force in the State had taken necessary precautionary measures in the wake of the Chhattisgarh incident. <br /><br />He said he would discuss with the department officials steps to revise the naxal surrender package. <br /><br />“The process of recruitment to vacant posts in the police department will get going as soon as the Finance department gives the go-ahead. I will hold a review meeting of department officials on Monday,” the minister said.</p>
