<p>Hubballi: Corporators, who often express discontent over the water supply management and implementation of 24X7 water supply project, on Monday, visited the project areas to understand the progress at the ground level by getting firsthand information.</p><p>Along with Mayor Ramappa (Ramanna Badiger) and Hubballi-Dharwad Municipal Corporation (HDMC) Commissioner Ishwar Ullagaddi, corporators visited jackwells at Neerasagar and Savadatti, and water treatment plants (WTP) at Kanavihonnapur and Amminbhavi. They inspected the works, and collected information about the progress from the officials of KUIDFC and L&T. Officials informed that pipelines are being laid and tanks are being constructed, while all works are expected to be completed by December. An additional 43 MLD additional water is also being drawn for the project for the twin cities, they added.</p><p>Some farmers had approached the court against the laying of pipeline from Savadatti jackwell and the works were expedited after compensation was arranged. Except a small stretch near Savadatti, there is no problem for the pipeline laying works in other places, they added.</p><p>HDMC Commissioner Ishwar Ullagaddi stated that the progress in laying pipelines inside the twin cities is less, and steps would be taken to speed up them. When this work is completed, entire twin cities would get water round-the-clock, he said, adding that pipeline laying works to bring water from Savadatti jackwell has gained pace.</p><p>Mayor Badiger said the visit was arranged to know the ground reality. A few corporators asked why continuous water is not being supplied to all wards though the project implementation started several years back. Calling a special meeting to discuss about the project was also demandd.</p><p>Deputy Mayor Durgamma Bijwad, Leader of opposition in HDMC Rajashekhar Kamati, Corporators Chandrashekhar Mangundi, Shivu Menasinkai, Umeshgouda Kaujageri, Santosh Chavan, Mallikarjun Gundur, and others were present.</p>
