<p>The Indian Institute of Management-Bangalore (IIM-B) has dismissed C V InduShekar Vasisst, the institute’s Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) accused of sexually harassing a lady doctor.<br /><br /></p>.<p>In an email sent to the IIM-B faculty and staff on May 24, Pankaj Chandra, Director IIM-B, has said: “Further to my email of December 4, 2012, this is to inform you that after following all the due processes, C V InduShekar Vasisst has been dismissed from the services of the institute. This comes into effect from May 22, 2013.”<br /><br />The CAO had allegedly made sexual overtures to the Medical Officer since 2009, which she had ignored initially. However, in November 2010, a complaint was lodged with the chairperson of the Gender Sensitivity Committee (GSC) of the institute as the harassment had continued.<br /><br />Besides, the medical officer, whose services were terminated in 2012, before the GSC could begin inquiry, had also lodged a complaint with the Director and Dean of the institute.<br /><br />The dismissal of the CAO comes six months after the institute suspended him.<br /><br />Show-cause notice<br /><br />In November last, Chandra had said in a similar mail that following the findings of the GSC, a show-cause notice had been issued to him and that he was being suspended pending submission of reply to the notice. There is, however, no such explanations in the May 24 email. Col (retd) Raghbir Singh will continue to be the in-charge CAO.<br /></p>
