<p>An all-round performance by Sanjeed (36, 3x4s, 2x6s and five for 18), helped JSS Dental College register a huge 140-run win over D Bhanumiah’s College in the second round tie of the Dell-KSCA Inter-collegiate knock-out cricket tournament played at Gangothri grounds here on Saturday.<br /><br />Batting first, JSS Dental College helped by some useful contributions from Gaurav Patil (57, 7x4s), Nilesh (49, 4x4s) and Sanjeed (36, 3x4s, 2x6s) posted 219 for eight in 30 overs. <br /><br />Pradeep was the most successful bowler for D Bhanumiah’s College taking three for 43.<br />In reply, D Bhanumiah’s College were bowled out for 79 runs in 19.5 overs. Bharath Bhushan top scored with 36 runs. Off-spinner Sanjeed bowled a steady line to grab five wickets (five for 18) in his six over spell. Left-arm medium-pacer Avic took two for 17.<br />Ch’nagar GFGC victorious<br /><br />In the other matches, Government First Grade College, Chamarajanagar, registered a 17-run win over SBRR Mahajana PU College to enter the pre-quarterfinals. <br /><br />JSS College, Ooty Road, registered a six-wicket win over Vidya Vikas Institute of Engineering and Technology, while Maharaja’s College secured a three-wicket win over Global Institute of Management and Developmental Sciences (GIMDS).
