Karnataka bypolls: 'Siddaramaiah has lost both sleep and appetite over elections': B Y Vijayendra

Davanagere: Karnataka State BJP President B Y Vijayendra stated that the by-elections to Davangere South and Bagalkot assembly constituencies, which have attracted attention in the country, have become a nightmare for the Congress, and Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has skipped meals and sleep to campaign.

Speaking at a press conference in the city on Monday, he said that the Congress-led government in Karnataka has continuously portrayed its guarantee schemes as development even though it has not done any development work in the state in the last three years.

He said that the fact that all the members of the cabinet, including the chief minister, have come here with the intention of covering up the failures of their government is a testimony to the government's development failure.

He also pointed out that in order to hide the mistakes of the state government, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and his cabinet colleagues have been making allegations against the Centre. But they have not done any development work in the state. The very experienced Chief Minister had got a good opportunity. But Siddaramaiah did not utilise his experience for the development of the state.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, who came to power in the name of backward claases, minorities, has somehow forgotten them. Muslims resentment against the Congress-led government is an evidence for this.

As a result, the Davangere South and Bagalkot by-elections have become a tough nut to crack for the Congress government and the chief minister has been wearing the mask of guarantees. So, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has given the task to his cabinet members to save Davangere South.from the defeat . So the Congress has set up camp here.

He explained that he has travelled in the Bagalkot constituency for four to five days and talked to the voters. "I have also traveled in Davangere. I am working with our leaders and workers. Our workers are working beyond their capacity at the booth level,". He exuded confidence that "Srinivas T Dasakariappa, a common man and our party candidate, will win by a margin of 50,000 votes.
