<p> The CCB sleuths arrested four more persons who were involved in dacoity at the residence of Kateel Sri Durgaparameshwari Temple priest Vasudeva Asranna at Kateel on October 4. With this, the total number of arrested is 11. <br /><br /></p>.<p>City Police Commissioner M Chandra Sekhar said on Monday that the arrested are Bharath Shetty (30) of Karkala, Mohammed Ali (35) of Melkar, Purushotham (44), of Haleyangadi, and Harish Gatti (41) from Ucchila in Mangaluru taluk. The police have also recovered 455 grams of gold ornaments, one revolver, one pistol, one breech loading gun, 11 live rounds and five mobile phones.<br /><br />The police commissioner said four teams were formed to crack the high profile case. The CCB team had visited Maharashtra, Goa, Udupi and Chikkamagaluru to hunt down the suspects. Acting on a tip-off, the CCB police arrested Bharath Shetty from Palli, Karkala taluk, on October 30. Following the clues that he gave, the cops arrested the other three suspects.<br /><br />The plan was hatched reportedly by H K Sudheendra Rao alias Sudheendra alias Susheendra Rao (33), son of H K Haridasa Rao, a resident of Bejai Kapikad in Mangaluru. He was assisted by Suresh Kumar (40), an employee of the Kateel Temple. Chidananda, another suspect, contacted Shetty to commit the offence. Mohammad Ali had tried to enter Asranna’s house twice but failed. Purushottam was a childhood friend of Shetty and helped him escape after committing the crime. Shetty had been involved in several criminal acts earlier and, with a warrant issued against him in the Court of Mumbai, was absconding. <br /><br />Stating that some people had attempted to pressurise the police by setting a deadline for the arrest of the suspects and giving a different story through social media, the officer said that the police are looking for six more persons who are still at large. <br /><br />The police commissioner announced cash prizes of Rs 10,000 each to the CCB team and the Bajpe police team. <br /><br />Baliga murder<br /><br />To a query on four accused, including prime accused Naresh Shenoy, in the murder of Vinayak Baliga getting bail, the officer said that the City Police will file a supplementary chargesheet shortly to the court. “We are collecting a few documents pertaining to the case. Once the documents are procured, the police will file a supplementary chargesheet,” he added.<br /><br />Chandra Sekhar said that four teams have been constituted in connection with the murder of a 27-year old youth at Assaigoli on October 22. <br /><br /></p>
