<p>Mysuru/Mandya: With good rains in the Cauvery River basin, there is a good inflow to the Krishnaraja Sagar (KRS) dam, in Srirangapatna taluk, Mandya district. The water level touched the 100-ft mark on Friday. </p><p>It is for the second time, the KRS dam has reached the 100-ft mark in the month of May in the last 35 years (from 1990). </p><p>According to Cauvery Neeravari Nigam (CNN) officials, the dam touched the 100-ft mark on May 11, in 2022. Usually, the dam reaches the 100-ft mark between June and July.</p><p>With good rains in Bhagamandala of Kodagu district and also in the other parts of the Cauvery basin, over the last one week, the inflow has increased to the KRS dam. While the inflow was 22,788 cusec on Thursday, it was 19,448 cusec on Friday. The outflow was 670 cusec.</p><p>The water level on May 30 was 100.10 ft, against the maximum level of 124.80 ft. The maximum capacity is 49.452 tmc ft, and today's (Friday) capacity was 22.888 tmc ft.</p>.Inflow into dams in Cauvery basin rise; KRS dam receives 4-ft water in a day.<p><strong>Kabini dam</strong></p><p>With good inflow, the Kabini dam at Beechanahalli, in H D Kote taluk, Mysuru district, is fast nearing the maximum level. </p><p>According to a press release from the Kabini Superintending Engineer Chandrashekar, as the inflow is more than 18,000 cusec, around 5,000 cusec is being released from the Kabini dam. </p><p>As there is a possibility of releasing more water from the dam, the people living in the villages on both the sides of the river bank should take precautionary measures and move to safer places, it stated. </p><p>The water level of the Kabini dam as on May 30 is 2277.69 ft as against the maximum level of 2284 ft. The inflow was 18,018 cusec and outflow around 5,000 cusec.</p>
