<p>The University of Mysore (UoM) will be the nodal agency to hold the Karnataka State Eligibility Test (KSET) for lectureship.<br /><br /></p>.<p> An expert committee of the University Grants Commission (UGC) had recommended on April 18, 2013 that the varsity be re-accredited to conduct the exam for three years, beginning 2013. <br /><br />This year, the KSET will be held in November and December. The university will construct a new building for KSET at an estimated cost of Rs 10 crore to 15 crore. “To be named ‘Maulya Bhavana’, the building will have a training centre for KSET and UGC-NET (National Eligibility Test) for the conduct of outreach programmes, the university’s Vice-chancellor, K S Rangappa,” told reporters here on Monday. <br /><br />Twelve sub-centres<br /><br />The KSET will be held for 32 subjects at 12 sub-centres to be located at UoM, Bangalore University, Karnatak University, Dharwad, Kuvempu University, Shimoga, Mangalore University, Gulbarga University, Tumkur University, Karnataka State Women’s University, Bijapur, Davanagere University, Rani Chennamma University, Belgaum, Vijayanagara Sri Krishnadevaraya University, Bellary, and Karnataka State Folk University, Shiggaon.<br />The notification for KSET will be issued in June or July and application forms will be available on www.kset.uni-mysore.ac.in. <br /><br />No maximum age has been fixed for applying for lectureship. The KSET syllabus will be similar to the one for UGC-NET and UGC-CSIR. There is no limit on the number of attempts a candidate can take to clear the exam. <br /><br />The university will also sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with a university in Thailand, in the presence of Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh, on May 30, to enable the exchange of students and faculty members, Rangappa added. <br /></p>
