The loan will be disbursed by the Stree Shakthi Federation. <br /><br />Loan for handicapped<br />Bharadwaj said the handicapped persons (male and female) would be given monetary assistance of up to Rs six lakh to set up small-scale industries. In Dakshina Kannada district, the authorities have received about 16 applications, of which, 13 has been okayed and sent to the State Committee for approval. <br /><br />She said that the Corporation is planning to organise buyers and sellers mela to provide link to the buyers soon. Under Udyogini scheme, Self-Help Groups will be loan upto Rs five lakh. In Dakshina Kannada, 15 applications have been received. Under the scheme, women are given loan at the rate of six per cent interest. <br /><br />She said that the Corporation’s Resource Centre was running Women employment guidance centre to provide employment guidance to the women. The Women Employment Guidance Centre in Dakshina Kannada was inaugurated in Mangalore on Monday. The centre will be functioning in the office of Women and Child Welfare department in Mangalore and will have two councillors. <br /><br />Bharadwaj said that she has been staying in villages with one poor family for a day. “I completed village stay in 14 villages in 14 districts so far. On Monday, I will be staying in the house of one Bindu in Aryappu village of Puttur taluk”.<br /><br />“During village stay, I have been holding Mahila Grama sabhe with the officials from the taluk-level, district-level and the SHG members. So far, 33 grama sabhe has been organised in the state.” “Through these meetings I try to motivate women and girls who are in villages,” she said.<br /><br />Exclusive market place<br />The Karnataka State Women Development Corporation is planning to set up an exclusive marketing place to provide marketing facilities to the products produced by SHG.
