Man hacked to death in Baikampady

The deceased has been identified as Jayakumar, a native of Kerala and was staying in a rented house near Meenakaliya sports club in the region.

The accused, Chandrashekar Pillai, is said to have barged into Jayakumar’s home and picked up a quarrel with Jayakumar.

However, later, in a fit of rage, attacked him with a sickle, killing him on the spot.
It is said that the Chandrashekar was harassing his friend, Kiran, a II PU student and Jayakumar’s elder sister’s son.

As Jayakumar had enquired with Chandrashekar about his harassment to Kiran, an upset Chandrashekar barged into Jayakumar’s house, picked up a quarrel and later killed him, it is said.

Panambur police have arrested Chandrashekar. A case has been registered and further investigations are on.
