21-year-old student arrested with hydro weed ganja worth Rs 35 lakh in Mangaluru

Mangaluru: The Panambur ACP team and Mulki police personnel have jointly arrested a 21-year-old student for allegedly attempting to sell hydro weed ganja and seized around 1.042 kg of the narcotic substance worth Rs 35 lakh.

Commissioner of Police Sudheer Kumar Reddy CH said that the arrested is Suhana, a native of Hulidevarabana in Sagar taluk of Shivamogga district, is currently a final-year BCA student at a college in Kundapur.

The arrest was made during an operation conducted on the Mulki Railway Station Road under the jurisdiction of Mulki Police Station Road.

During the operation, police personnel seized around 1 kg and 42 grams of Hydro Weed ganja, a mobile phone allegedly used for the crime, and other materials connected to the case.

Preliminary investigation revealed that she had allegedly sourced the hydro weed from Chennai and brought it to Mangaluru with the intention of supplying the narcotic substance and earning money through its sale.

A case has been registered at Mulki Police Station under Sections 8(c) and 22(c) of the NDPS Act.

The commissioner said that the arrested is already facing two other narcotics-related cases:

At Kavoor Police Station under Sections 8(C) and 22(C) of the NDPS Act and by Bengaluru International Airport Customs under Sections 20(b), 2(B), 23(b), 27(A), and 29 of the NDPS Act.
