Namma Saras mela records business transaction of Rs 1.34 crore

Mangaluru: The nine-day national-level exhibition, Namma Saras Mela-2026 has registered a business transactions of over Rs 1.34 crore.

The mela was organised by the Department of Skill Development, Entrepreneurship and Livelihood under the Karnataka State Rural Livelihood Mission (KSRLPS), in collaboration with the Dakshina Kannada district administration, Zilla Panchayat and Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC).

Srinivas M, Additional Publicity Director of Sanjeevini–KSRLPS, thanked all participants and stakeholders for their support. He said the fair, which commenced on February 20, recorded total sales of Rs 1,34,44,970 by the final day.

Women representing self-help groups from 20 states and all districts of Karnataka took part in the mela. Around 120 stalls sold a wide range of products, while 30 live food stalls attracted strong patronage from visitors in the coastal city.

The handloom stall run by the Ratnaballi Self-Help Group from Hooghly district in West Bengal recorded the highest sales of Rs 8,69,440. The Radhamadhav NRLM Self-Help Group, also from West Bengal, secured the second spot with sales of Rs 5,11,290, followed by the Marutinandan Self-Help Group from Gujarat, which recorded Rs 4,42,520 in sales.
