Mysuru cops destroy defective silencers of 378 vehicles

Mysuru: Mysuru city Police have booked cases against 378 two-wheelers with defective silencers and seized those silencers during a special drive held as part of national road safety month in January.

They destroyed all of these defective silencers near Siddartha Nagar Traffic Police Station in Mysuru, on Tuesday.

They had seized defective silencers of 26 vehicles in Devaraja traffic police station limits, 59 vehicles in K R (Krishna Raja), 50 in N R (Narasimha Raja), 43 in Siddarthanagar, 200 in VV Puram traffic police station limits and booked cases under Indian Motor Vehicle Act.

They have also booked four cases against those indulging in wheeling this year so far including three in Siddarthanagar traffic police station limits and one in VVPuram limits. They had booked 15 cases against wheeling in 2025 including one each in Devaraja and N R traffic police station limits, four in K R, four in Siddarthanagar, five in VV Puram traffic police station limits.

City Police Commissioner Seema Latkar informed this and said that they have continued their drive against traffic violations, especially against those indulging in Wheeling and using these kind of defective silencers.
