In the backdrop of Gram Panchayat elections, the Naxals have pasted banners, pamphlets on water tanks, bus stands and school and have returned to the forest.  The banners read ‘let us control the haves in Gram Panchayats,’ ‘Let us demand for a doctor and integrated medical facilities to all the villages,’ ‘Let us demand for the starting of bus facility to Matholli via Bukadibailu and Mundagaru.’ After every sentence, the name of Maoist was written.

Police sources said “we do not know whether it was pasted by Naxals or by some miscreants.”  After IGP (Western range) Gopal Hosur announced that the Naxal activities are on decline in Malnad, this is the first time that such activities were seen. SP Vikas Kumar visited Sringeri to collect the details. However, he was not available for comment.
